When I read the story, I thought that it was a very good example of greed, but also having to pay back yourself for what you did. I feel like at the beginning of the story, Mathilde was very self-centered and she always wanted more. By the end of the story, she realised that it’s not all about herself and did the right thing by replacing the necklace. I can’t understand why she wanted to make herself look rich when she wasn’t. You should just accept who you are, and not try to lie about your true self. When she borrowed the necklace, she was being very greedy since her friend was making a really nice offer, and she wanted more. By the end, she did the right thing to pay off the new necklace.
